The DeLorean, which was famously featured in the Back To The Future trilogy, has some interesting similarities to Tesla's ground breaking Cybertruck.
The vehicles look somewhat similar in appearance thanks to the angular design and lack of curves, but they have something genetic in common that makes them almost siblings.
Both the DeLorean and Cybertruck are made out of stainless steel. The unpainted stainless finish gives them both the same exterior appearance.
The DeLorean and Cybertruck are not the onlystainless steel vehicles that have been made. In fact, the first stainless steel cars were produced in the 1930's in a partnership between the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Division and the Ford Motor Company. Only 11 vehicles were made during the collaboration however, with 9 reportedly still in use today.
In addition to the stainless finish the vehicles also share a somewhat similar shape. The fastback rear end of the DeLorean gives it a similar side profile to the SUV style of the Cybertruck.
One can only wonder if a Cybertruck could replace the DeLorean if a Back To The Future IV was ever made. If it happened the Cybertrucks cult status would surely elevate to the envious level of the DeLorean.
