Media outlet Carbuzz published an article confirming that Tesla was performing a major redesign of the Cybertruck, but the story was intended to be an April Fool's Day prank.
The story was believable because there are already concerns about pedestrian safety and legality of many of the Cybertrucks features. The article was accompanied by an artist's render of the new design which added credibility to the write up.
The artist's render basically makes the Cybertruck look more like a traditional SUV, with a standard rear bed replacing the futuristic, angular bed of the prototype. All of Cybertrucks angular features were rounded off, removing much of it's army-like appearance.
The Cybertruck redesign story went viral throughout all the normal social media channels yesterday including Twitter and Facebook, with many legitimate sources sharing the story.
Whilst the Cybertruck is likely to have numerous tweaks prior to it's official launch we can rest assured that Tesla will not be removing those unique, angular lines any time soon.
